Ashleigh was suddenly taken from us on 21st dec 1992.
We all remember that day too well as it started out just like any other,
Later we noticed ashleigh wasn't her normall bubbly self.
We called out the GP as you do and he said there was nothing to worry about as she was teething,later on we called out another GP who said the same!...it was only after the THIRD GP came did he tell us that ashleigh had Meningitis. Ashleigh died in hospital a few hours later. Anybody with children who thinks that there's somthing wrong with their child PLEASE
take them straight to the nearest hospital (NOT YOUR GP) The time you will save could mean the difference between your child being here today,
or like in our case...JUST YOUR MEMORIES.

On tuesday you will turn 18 angel. We held a charity/auction party for you to raise money for the meningitis trust. You must be one SPECIAL girl ashleigh because you could hardly move there were that many people. Who all turned out to show just how much we all miss you sweetheart.xx. By the time we total all the money together we will have raised around £4000!!!! I've never felt as proud of you as i did last night ashleigh

My thoughts are with you and your family, the same situation happened with us and my little boy 3 years old, the emergency GP said it was just chicken pox when in fact it was meningitis septicimia. Got rushed into the hospital 21st december and fell asleep on the 23rd. All because the emergency GP couldnt be bothered coming out or sending us down to get him checked out properly. Thinking of you and feeling your pain.xxx
